The foundational technology behind Kihealth originated at Yale University, where pioneering work by Dr. Kevin Herold demonstrated the potential to detect beta-cell injury using circulating biomarkers. This scientific breakthrough opened a new lens on chronic disease, one that revealed molecular signals long before symptoms, long before clinical diagnosis, and long before irreversible damage had already taken place.

That discovery created a rare opportunity: to rethink how chronic diseases, particularly Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, could be identified much earlier than traditional approaches allow. For decades, medicine has waited for disease to declare itself. This science offered the possibility of listening for it, quietly, at a molecular level, years earlier.

Kihealth Labs was founded in 2023 with a singular mission: to translate this groundbreaking science into clinically accessible diagnostics capable of changing how diseases are detected, monitored, and ultimately prevented. Not confined to a research paper. Not reserved for a small handful of academic centers. But delivered, reliably, affordably, and at scale, to the clinicians and patients who need it.
